About Us
FR+ CO architects, established in early 2017 with Kyle Franco as director and principal. A need to explore new horizons and push personal boundaries saw Kyle start the company with the aim of providing clients with the personal attention that is required but so often missing in the industry.
Kyle finished his studies in 2005 with a MArch (Prof) from the University of Pretoria and started working at a small practice in Rosebank where the primary focus was niche/upmarket residential work. After 3 years he moved to Pretoria and joined a more commercially oriented firm where he spent 6 years working on a large variety of commercial and residential projects and gaining invaluable experience.
His desire to be more in control of projects prompted a move to a smaller, more personal practice. For a long time though he wanted to start his own practice, and 2 years later this became a reality.
He is a professionally registered architect with SACAP (South African Council for the Architectural Profession) and is SANS10400XA accredited which gives FR+CO the ability to do the energy efficiency calculations in house. The work is personal, despite the scale, and with attention to detail, both the inside spaces created and the exterior environment are complete in their wholes, often working in symbiosis.
The ever growing portfolio of FR+CO Architects includes a wide variety of project types with varying scopes and Kyle’s personal portfolio is extensive and includes commercial buildings, housing developments and individually designed houses with a lot of time spent on site working closely with the contractor and consultants to bring to reality the dreams of his clients.
